A bird’s-eye view of an outdoor Solarpunk workshop area arranged in a circular pattern. Low, curved benches made from polished reclaimed wood and mycelium-based blocks encircle a central demonstration table covered in small solar gadgets, seed packets, and miniature vertical garden prototypes. Surrounding the circle, tall planters overflow with pollinator-friendly flowers and trailing vines. Soft midday sunlight bathes the scene, casting gentle shadows and highlighting the vibrant greens and warm earth tones. Photographic realism with clear, detailed textures and a bright, energetic atmosphere, composed to show the symmetry of the layout and the sense of collaborative creativity at the heart of the festival.
A cozy, sheltered rest area at the festival beneath a sweeping, leaf-shaped canopy made of tensile fabric embedded with flexible solar cells. The canopy’s underside has a soft, matte texture and is patterned with subtle, abstract leaf veins. Beneath it, low seating pods made from cork and woven natural fibers are arranged in small clusters around planter tables filled with aromatic herbs. Diffused daylight filters through the semi-translucent canopy, casting gentle, organic patterns on the smooth, packed-earth floor. Photographic realism, eye-level perspective, balanced composition using rule of thirds, evoking a calm, playful, and restorative space in harmony with nature.

We offer hands-on sessions across crafts, tech, and climate action, with clear skill levels and capacity limits to help you pick sessions that fit your schedule.

Meet the Team

An intimate, eye-level view of a hands-on eco-art station at the festival, featuring a long, smooth table made from reclaimed boat wood, its weathered grain polished to a soft sheen. On the table lie neatly arranged jars of natural pigments, soy-based inks, and brushes made with bamboo handles and plant fibers, alongside stacks of seed-infused paper and stencils of suns, leaves, and whimsical future cities. Sunlight streams in through a nearby skylight framed with solar glass, creating bright highlights on glass jars and gentle shadows beneath art supplies. The background shows a softly blurred wall of living plants. Photographic realism, shallow depth of field, playful and creative atmosphere emphasizing tactile materials and sustainable craft.

Our mentors blend art, science, and community wisdom to guide Solarpunk practice, from seed-saving to urban ecology, ensuring every workshop feels inclusive and inspiring.

A wide panoramic view of a Solarpunk festival grounds, with gently curving walkways weaving through lush, overflowing garden beds of flowers, herbs, and fruit trees. Sleek solar panels are seamlessly integrated into artfully shaped pergolas and translucent canopies, their glassy surfaces catching warm late-afternoon sunlight. Vertical wind turbines spin quietly in the distance beside a shimmering pond edged with reeds and floating lily pads. Colorful fabric banners printed with abstract sun and leaf motifs hang between bio-based bamboo structures. Photographic realism, shot at eye level with a slightly wide-angle lens, crisp focus throughout, capturing a vibrant, optimistic atmosphere that feels playful yet grounded in sustainability and harmony with nature.

Each facilitator brings hands-on expertise and a collaborative spirit, creating safe spaces where newcomers and veterans co-create sustainable solutions together.

A detailed close-up of a festival information kiosk, designed like a small living tree trunk emerging from the ground, its surface a smooth composite resembling bark with embedded solar cells that glint softly. A high-resolution, frameless display screen is set into the trunk, showing a colorful schedule of workshops and performances with icons of suns, leaves, and gears. Around the base, tiny groundcover plants and bright wildflowers spill over a ring of polished river stones. Soft overcast light creates even illumination with minimal shadows, allowing every texture to appear crisp. Photographic realism, slightly angled side view, emphasizing the playful fusion of organic form and advanced sustainable technology.

We celebrate diverse voices who design, teach, and mentor, weaving local knowledge with hopeful imagination to grow resilient communities.

A twilight scene of the festival’s central Solarpunk stage, a gently curved platform made from pale, bio-composite material that seems to grow out of the surrounding grass. Behind it rises a semi-transparent backdrop of hexagonal solar glass panels, softly illuminated from within, glowing in gradient hues of teal, amber, and soft pink. Slim wind turbines shaped like stylized leaves turn quietly at the edges. Tiny string lights powered by visible micro solar cells are woven through nearby trees, casting warm, twinkling reflections on a nearby rainwater-fed pond. Photographic realism, wide-angle composition with the stage centered, capturing the dreamy, playful evening atmosphere of a sustainable celebration.

A detailed close-up of the main festival welcome arch, crafted from intertwined bamboo and reclaimed wood, wrapped in climbing vines dotted with tiny blossoms and soft moss. Thin, flexible solar strips are woven decoratively through the arch, glowing with subtle embedded LED indicators. A hand-painted wooden sign reading “Optimistic Festival” in bright, joyful colors hangs from natural fiber ropes beneath. Golden hour sunlight filters through leaves overhead, creating dappled patterns on the smooth pathway leading in. Photographic realism, shallow depth of field with the arch in sharp focus and the lush festival grounds softly blurred behind, conveying a playful, inviting, and hopeful mood.
